New €30 million Irish Photonic Integration Centre launched at Tyndall National Institute

• New €30 million Irish Photonic Integration Centre (IPIC) places Ireland in prime position to grow Ireland’s share of Europe’s €58billion photonics market. • The SFI Research Centre for photonic integration brings together four research institutes, over 100 researchers and 18 industry partners. • IPIC to focus on new applications in the ICT and medical device arenas with the target of stimulating the creation of 200 jobs in these key sectors over the next six years. • Centre shines spotlight on Ireland as a high-tech start-up base with new company, X-Celeprint, committed to creating up to 20 jobs.
