Movistar customers in Spain will have exclusive access, through Android devices, to the Pinterest widget, one of the world’s most popular social networks. They will be able to download this widget from Google Play, bringing the popular social network directly to mobile.
From the 5th of February, Movistar mobile customers with Android devices will be able to access the social network with ease from their handsets, discovering and “pinning” ideas related to their interests. From gastronomy to fashion, as well as sport, entertainment or design.
The widget’s personalised user experience will show the new users the most popular “pins” and a feed with personal preferences and instant notifications for registered users.
“Pinterest is about discovering and collecting the world’s content in a way that’s meaningful to individual interests. Our exclusive widget on Android devices makes it easier for Movistar customers to pin their favourite items quickly and from any location. In fact, more than 75% of Pinterest users access and post content from their mobile devices, making it the preferred way to find and share content,” said Gene Alston, head of business development, Pinterest.
Fernando Abella, general manager of Telefónica Digital España, said: “Movistar customers can now exclusively enjoy the experience of the great Pinterest widget on Android. This agreement between Telefónica Digital and Pinterest is a great opportunity for Movistar´s subscribers in Spain to enjoy the best digital services.”
The standard version of Pinterest for Android is one of the highest rated applications by users on Google Play, with a rating of 4.7 out of 5, and this new widget, available exclusively to Movistar mobile customers, is based on the popular application.
The launch is the result of the global agreement signed last October between Telefónica Digital and Pinterest. The Pinterest Android Widget will be will be exclusively available for immediate download onto the Android devices of Movistar customers in Spain. Today, the Pinterest widget is already available to millions of Android users in the UK and Brazil.
