Telefónica Studios, the production division of Telefónica, will co-produce REGRESSION, the new thriller from writer-director Alejandro Amenábar headlined by a stellar cast including Academy Award nominee Ethan Hawke and Emma Watson.
In the film, Detective Bruce Kenner (Ethan Hawke) looks into the case of young Angela (Emma Watson), who accuses her father (David Dencik) of sexual abuse. But the investigation reveals a satanic cult at work in the area.
Telefónica Studios joins production companies MOD Entertainment, MOD Producciones, Himenoptero and First Generation Films for the English-language film which just wrapped in Toronto.
TWC-Dimension will release the film in the US, with FilmNation handling all world sales outside US and Spain.

Some titles co-produced by Telefonica Studios includes Damian Szifron´s Wild Tales, Juan José Campanella’s Foosball, Eugenio Mira´s Grand Piano starring Elijah Wood and the animated hit The Adventures of Tad Jones (aka Tad The lost explorer).
The company has been associated to talented filmmakers and stars like Robert Duvall, John Cusack, Gael García Bernal. Michael Sheen, Ricardo Darin, Joseph Fiennes, Alice Braga, Walter Salles, Alejandro Gonzalez Iñarritu, Pedro Almodovar, Sam Neill, Rodrigo Cortes, Matthew Fox, Alec Baldwin, Gustavo Santaolalla and Jaume Collet-Serra, among many others.
