Worldwide study finds that fertilizer destabilizes grasslands

Fertilizer could be too much of a good thing for the world's grasslands. According to a study that monitored grasslands at 41 sites on five continents, fertilizer overuse results in wilder swings in productivity that could intensify the harm caused by drought.
