New guide highlights ways to boost use of multi-sensory environments in dementia care




Academic experts from Kingston University London and the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom have unveiled a guide that sheds new light on the positive impact multi-sensory environments can have when caring for people living with dementia. The publication outlines the importance of having areas in care homes that are specifically designed to stimulate sight, sound, touch, taste, smell and movement in a gentle and controlled way to help improve communication and memory.
